Helping Today for a Better Tomorrow

Supporting Basketball Leagues & Advocating for Organ Donation

There are so many ways that Michael-Gene Kids Basketball Foundation is giving back to Melbourne, Florida, and the Central Florida area. From sponsoring basketball leagues to speaking about organ donation, we work hard to make a difference. You can support a wide range of projects through our annual black-tie charity fundraiser. Donations of basketballs are also always welcome.

Sponsorships for Basketball Leagues

Michael-Gene loved basketball, and we want to help others enjoy the sport that was so dear to him. Our foundation sponsors a variety of youth basketball leagues throughout the community, including the Police Athletic League, which helps kids learn values. Some of the leagues we support include:

• Melbourne Police Athletic League
• Palm Bay Youth Basketball Association
• City of Melbourne Youth Basketball
• Greater West Melbourne League
• Other Brevard Youth Basketball Leagues

Speaking About Organ & Tissue Donation

The gift of organs and tissue is the gift of life to someone in crisis. Michael-Gene Kids Basketball Foundation members travel to participate in a wide variety of speaking engagements, advocating on behalf of organ and tissue donation charities. Checkout the Summer issue of The Visionary by the Lions Eye Institute. Our mission is to teach the community the importance and value of becoming a donor so that your organs can live beyond you and save lives.
